Catherine Tate and Russell T Davies are taking to Twitter tomorrow (Friday 18th December) to tweet along during the Lockdown Who rewatch of the 2006 Christmas special, The Runaway Bride!
These rewatches involve fans from across the globe playing the same episode at the same time, then tweeting their thoughts using the appropriate hashtag (this week’s is, rather brilliantly, #SantasARobot). Previous rewatches have included The Husbands of River Song, Thin Ice, Heaven Sent, The Doctor’s Wife, Blink, and last weekend’s The Unquiet Dead.
This week’s is happening on Friday instead of the Saturday – which at least gives Strictly Come Dancing fans a chance to watch the series finale at the weekend – and means that we’re joined by former showrunner, Russell T Davies, and actress, Catherine Tate, whose first appearance in Doctor Who was as the titular Runaway Bride.
Of course, her character, Donna Noble, would be offered more trips in the TARDIS alongside David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor, but turned it down – that is, until Series 4, when she tracked him down and went on to face Sontarans, Vashta Nerada, Daleks, and more… before getting her mind wiped in the heart-breaking Journey’d End.
Davies will be tweeting from his own account (@russelldavies63), while Tate will be signing into @LockdownWho.
The Runaway Bride rewatch starts at 7pm (GMT) tomorrow (Friday 18th December 2020).
