Big Finish’s Sherlock Holmes Series 7 to be Released in 2021 and 2022

Big Finish’s Sherlock Holmes Series 7 will be released across two separate sets, out in 2021 and 2022.

As previously announced, Nicholas Briggs returns as the Consulting Detective with Richard Earl as Dr Watson in these two full-cast audio dramas, as they go head-to-head with new and old villains alike and once again solve the unsolvable.

The Seamstress of Peckham Rye is due for release in July 2021, as originally advertised. However, due to unavoidable production issues, the release date of The Fiends of New York City has now been moved to May 2022.

Fortunately, all previously-placed pre-orders for the single Sherlock Holmes – Series 7 release will be converted to a pre-order bundle of the two separate releases at no extra cost.

For a very limited time, you can save money with a limited-edition bundle for the two tales of Sherlock Holmes – Series 7, available to pre-order on CD (at £19.99) or digital download (at £16.99).

This bundle offer is available until 23:59 (UK time) on Friday 9th April 2021, after which the pre-order bundle price will revert to £38 on CD and £33 on download.

Big Finish’s Sherlock Holmes range covers retellings of some of the classic Holmes stories, including The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Speckled Band, and The Final Problem, as well as a whole run of brand-new tales. Writer, Jonathan Barnes said:

“When you start thinking about writing new stories for Sherlock Holmes, it’s almost as though the original stories are welcoming you in – there’s all these incredible gaps, tantalising hints dropped, and things that Watson is too discreet to say! So you can go into these gaps in the canon, trying to be as respectful as possible playing in Conan Doyle’s world, colouring in between the lines.

“It’s a childhood dream come true, to be able to write these stories. And my goodness, I’ve been very lucky at Big Finish! I’ve been allowed to write an awful lot of Holmes material for them, coming up to ten years – it was 2012 when we did the first one that I wrote. By the time this seventh series is complete, it will be a decade’s worth of stories!”

The Seamstress of Peckham Rye and The Fiends of New York Cityare each also available to pre-order separately as collector’s edition 3-CD box sets (at £19.99) or digital downloads (at £16.99) at www.bigfinish.com
