Coming Soon: The War Doctor Returns in He Who Fights Monsters from Big Finish

Ready to find out more about the War Doctor? Big Finish has you covered, as Jonathon Carley returns to portray that incarnation of the Time Lord in his youth.

And the upcoming boxset is directed by Louise Jameson, best known for playing Fourth Doctor companion, Leela (and a Big Finish regular)!

He Who Fights Monsters is a single, three-hour adventure, written by Robert Valentine, and due for release in December 2022. As the Time Lord embarks on a mission into the darkest heart of the Time War, he wonders if he’ll ever make his way back.

This is the fourth volume of a series which finds Jonathon Carley stepping into the role played on screen by the late, great John Hurt.

The three parts of this epic audio drama volume are:

  • The Mission
  • The Abyss
  • The Horror

Producer David Richardson said:

“Think of this as a concept album release. For this box set we’ve handed over to Robert Valentine and asked him to throw his ingenuity and creativity into three hours. You won’t be disappointed, as the War Doctor steps along a dark path and encounters a new foe.”

The War Doctor Begins: He Who Fights Monsters is now available to pre-order for £19.99 (as a CD box set and download) or £16.99 (download only), exclusively from Big Finish. And you can save money by pre-ordering all four volumes of The War Doctor Begins in a bundle for just £76 (CD box set plus download) or £66 (digital download only)
