Four guest stars in Doctor Who Series 14 have been announced including Dame Siân Phillips, who’s been in a number of Big Finish adventures, but is probably best known as Empress Livia in I, Claudius (1976).
Phillips has been in an array of audio stories, like The World Traders, Jenny – The Doctor’s Daughter: Still Running and Stolen Goods, Ravenous 2, The War Doctor: Solitary Confinement, and Torchwood: The Hope. Her extensive credits include Dune, Goodbye Mr Chips, Ivanhoe, Good Omens, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and Tales of the Unexpected.
Also announced is Golda Rosheuvel, who appears in Space Babies, the first episode of the season.
Showrunner, Russell T Davies said:
“It’s been amazing to see the whole world appreciate Golda’s talents, because of Bridgerton, and it’s been an absolute joy to invite her to Cardiff to help launch Ncuti [Gatwa] and Millie [Gibson]’s first season.”
We’ve already seen Callie Cooke (Henpocalypse!) in the teaser trailer; she’ll be Dot and Bubble. Producer Phil Collinson enthused:
“Trust me, this isn’t just a simple guest role. Callie is absolutely front and centre in some of the most challenging material we’ve ever shot, I can’t wait for you to see it. No one will forget her!”
And finally, Tachia Newall (Waterloo Road) plays Winston Chidozie in the series finale, Empire of Death. Collinson promises that “his scenes are absolutely terrifying”.
Doctor Who Series 14 begins next month — May 2024!
