Now that was a shock! A real shot in the arm, this week, as things we thought we knew, things that were set up, making us think perhaps of Love & Monsters, were subverted. That was Lucky Day, the fourth episode of Doctor Who Series 15 and the first Doctor-lite episode since Dot and Bubble last year.
As well as the returns of UNIT (with key personnel like Kate Stewart and Shirley Anne Bingham, played respectively by Jemma Redgrave and Ruth Madeley) and Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), the story also welcomed back Kerblam! and Praxeus scribe, Pete McTighe, and A Good Man Goes to War director, Peter Hoar.
Plus, we got scenes set during Series 14 and sometime afterwards, likely between Joy to the World and The Robot Revolution.
But what did you think of Lucky Day? Please vote in our poll then expand on your thoughts in the comments section…

Now, we’d love to know more about your thoughts. What did you think of the episode in general and of the twist? What about the grittiness of Kate and the Doctor on show here? How did the Shreek hold up? And how might this story set up both the season finale, The Reality War, and the upcoming spin-off series, The War Between the Land and the Sea? Let us now in the comments below!
