Three Lethbridge-Stewart Novels From Candy Jar Books Updated and Available to Pre-Order Now

To celebrate 15 years of Candy Jar Books, the publisher is reprinting three Lethbridge-Stewart novels with brand new covers, and they’re available to order right now!

These releases — Moon Blink, Blood of Atlantis, and The Showstoppers — further celebrate 10 years of the Lethbridge-Stewart range, which tells the early days of Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, a much-loved character from the world of Doctor Who.

Of note, too, is that Moon Blink, the first book of the second Lethbridge-Stewart series, is written by Sadie Miller, daughter of Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith) and Brian Miller (voice of the Daleks)!

Here’s the blurb:

Set against the backdrop of 20th July 1969, just as Neil Armstrong is preparing to take one small step for man, this gripping tale unearths a world of secrets, lies, and betrayals. Anne Travers is visited by an old friend bearing a mysterious bundle, while a dangerous new drug, “Moon Blink,” hits the streets, rumoured to be made from moon dust. As Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart and Anne dig deeper, they find themselves caught in a web of deception, with loyalties about to be tested like never before.

You can pre-order Moon Blink here.

Candy Jar is also reprinting Blood of Atlantis, the second book in the third series of Lethbridge-Stewart, now featuring an updated cover too.

Could Atlantis really have arisen in the Aegean Sea? Lethbridge-Stewart’s nephew, Owain Vine, and a group of eco-protestors are trying to thwart Rolph Vorster, a South African mining magnate with a private army intent on harvesting Atlantean riches. Meanwhile, Lethbridge-Stewart, with Anne Travers by his side, is called in to investigate a missing Russian submarine linked to the lost city, enlisting the help of eccentric archaeologist Sonia Montilla. As tensions rise, Captain Bugayev and an undercover Spetsnaz team uncover secrets that could escalate the Cold War to dangerous new heights.

Written by Simon A. Forward, this gripping story combines high-stakes action with intrigue and adventure.

You can pre-order Blood of Atlantis now.

And finally, we have The Showstoppers by Jonathan Cooper!

‘Nuzzink in ze vorld can schtop me now!’

There’s a new TV show about to hit the airwaves, but Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart won’t be tuning in. With the future of the Fifth Operational Corps in doubt he’s got enough to worry about, but a plea from an old friend soon finds Lethbridge-Stewart and Anne Travers embroiled in a plot far more fantastical than anything on the small screen.

Can charismatic star Aubrey Mondegreene really be in two places at the same time? What lengths will ailing entertainment mogul Billy Lovac go to in order to reach his audience? And is luckless journalist Harold Chorley really so desperate that he’ll buy into a story about Nazi conspiracies from a tramp wearing a tin foil hat?

There’s something very rotten at the heart of weekend television, and it isn’t all due to shoddy scripts and bad special effects.

You can pre-order The Showstoppers, also with a new cover, now.

Candy Jar has also just sent The HAVOC Files 5 and 6 to the printers, and says:

“In total, these five books contain twenty-one stories. From short fiction and comic strips to full-length novels  – all celebrating the characters, history, and ideas that have shaped Candy Jar over the last fifteen years.

“We’re incredibly proud of this line-up, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
