Doctor Who Actor To Reprise Role In Class

Okay so it isn’t Peter Capaldi or even Ellis George but a Doctor Who actor is set to reprise their role in upcoming spin-off Class.
Last week it was revealed that actor Greg Austin, best known for playing Gordon Selfridge in ITV’s Mr Selfridge, will play a character named Charlie in the show. Now, thanks to similar online sleuthing by Twitter user Ruther, it’s now been revealed that Nigel Betts will reprise his role as Mr Armitage.

Betts previously played the Coal Hill School staff member in 2014’s Into the Dalek and The Caretaker, followed by a voice-only cameo in Dark Water.
Veteran actor Betts has also appeared in such shows as Emmerdale, Downton Abbey and Holby City.
None of these rumours have been confirmed yet but Class writer Patrick Ness has said that we should get an official casting announcement soon.
The official synopsis for Class reads:

“Incredible dangers are breaking through the walls of time and space, and with darkness coming, London is unprotected. With all the action, heart and adrenalin of the best YA fiction (Buffy, Hunger Games), this is Coal Hill School and Doctor Who like you’ve never seen it before.”

Class will premiere later this year on BBC Three in the UK and on BBC America in the US.
