Mark Gatiss Promises 'A New Kind of Ice Warrior' in Series 10 Episode

Mark Gatiss has promised a new twist on an old foe as the Ice Warriors return for his upcoming Doctor Who series 10 episode.
The Ice Warriors – who first appeared in the show in 1967 – are making a comeback in Peter Capaldi’s final series as the Doctor, in an episode set on Mars.
Gatiss had previously brought back the lisping foes in the 2013 episode Cold War – which was the first time they had appeared in decades, having been a staple of Doctor Who during the 60s and 70s.
Revealing the news via Twitter, Gatiss said:
“I’m bringing back the Ice Warriors again, one of my favourite monsters… It’s a thrill a minute. A sort of Bank Holiday Monday feel, the kind of Jules Verne, Edgar Rice Burroughs story of derring-do, which I’ve always loved.
“But it has a new twist. There is a new Ice Warrior in it, a new kind of Ice Warrior.”

What’s more, the BBC One Snapchat page has released this behind the scenes tease of the Ice Warriors in action.

Doctor Who Series 10 will air from April 15th on BBC One and BBC America.
