Filming for the Doctor Who Christmas 2017 special concludes this week, and the production team will be busy assembling footage to show at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
As part of Peter Capaldi’s final SDCC appearance in relation to brand new Doctor Who (sorry), the panel will include an exclusive preview of the festive episode, written by Steven Moffat (expected to be his final story for the show) and directed by Rachel Talalay (World Enough and Time/ The Doctor Falls).
The official BBC America panel takes place on Sunday 23rd July 2017, and features Peter Capaldi (Twelfth Doctor); Pearl Mackie (Bill); Matt Lucas (Nardole); Michelle Gomez (Missy); writer and actor, Mark Gatiss (Cold War; Empress of Mars); and Steven Moffat; moderated by Chris Hardwick. It promises to celebrate Christmas in July and share one last look back with fans at their time with the iconic global hit series.
The Christmas special will star David Bradley as the First Doctor, as introduced in The Doctor Falls, and see Peter Capaldi regenerate into… well, who knows? It’s certainly been a while since it was announced he was so leave, but with filming on Series 11 expected relatively soon (we hope!), we surely can’t have long to wait. Please?
We hope that the preview will be released by the BBC soon after the SDCC screening – then again, they have a history of keeping us fans waiting!
The Doctor Who SDCC panel takes place between 2pm and 3pm in Hall H, so if you’re going, we’re very jealous.
