Happy New Year From The DWC!

Happy New Year!
Yep, it’s a brand-new year. Take it in. An endless exciting horizon of possibilities just waiting for you to sober up and acknowledge.
After the nightmare that was 2016, the preceding year was more like a clown car filled with an endless stream of ridiculous horrors: Donald Trump; Theresa May’s increasingly tenuous grasp of her own party; fidget spinners; #notmyluke – the subtle difference between the two years will puzzle experts for at least 40… 45 minutes tops.
As for Doctor Who, the biggest development in 2017 was, of course, Jodie Whittaker, last seen plummeting to Earth as the TARDIS burned above, which depending on your point of view is an apt metaphor for a new, exciting dawn – where literally anything is possible – or it’s an Icarian prophecy for what’s to come.
Regardless of what your opinion may be, here’s hoping that Chris Chibnall follows his convictions and makes the show feel fresh again – the world is waiting.
If I can be a bit indulgent for a moment, I’d just like to thank each one of you for making the DWC what it is. Sure, it may not be perfect (that’s mostly my fault), but at its heart, it’s honest, passionate, and sometimes a little crazy (that’s mostly my fault again) about our shared love for the Doctor.
So, while we figure out what’s left while looking forward towards to what’s to come, we at the DWC would like to wish each of you the very best for 2018. If something is making you unhappy, change it. If you’ve always wanted to do something, do it. If that something involves Doctor Who, all the better. Just make this year the best it can be… or we’ll disband and agree never to mention any of this ever again, cool?
Here’s to 2018! It’s like 2017 but with curves.
