Doctor Who and Jodie Whittaker Nominated for National Television Awards

Doctor Who Series 11 has been nominated at this year’s National Television Awards (NTAs) – and it’s up to fans to show their support for the show!

The series is nominated in the category of Best Drama, competing against Our Girl, Peaky Blinders, Call the Midwife, and Casualty. The Thirteenth Doctor herself, Jodie Whittaker is also up for Best Drama Performance, facing competition from Michelle Keegan (for the aforementioned Our Girl); Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders); Jodie Comer (Killing Eve); and Richard Madden (Bodyguard). The latter two have proved especially popular recently, with Madden and Killing Eve‘s Sandra Oh winning Golden Globes just a few days ago.

Graham O’Brien fans will be pleased to see Bradley Walsh nominated for Best TV Presenter, and The Chase for Best Quiz Show.

Let’s also note that the wonderful Bonnie Langford (Mel Brown) is up for Best Serial Drama Performance for EastEnders. And any regular viewers of the soap know that she blew it out of the park with one of the more recent storylines in which he on-screen son was killed, bringing to light the massive issue of knife crime in London.
