We’ve got a first look at Spyfall, the first episode of Doctor Who Series 12, Jodie Whittaker’s return as the Thirteenth Doctor and her second season in the role. The clip debuted on 6th December during The Graham Norton Show, which featured Jodie as a guest ahead of Spyfall‘s premiere.

The scene stars Stephen Fry as a high-ranking member of the UK’s secret intelligence service, MI:6, asking if they can rely on the Doctor to help them because – guess what? – the fate of the whole planet is at stake.

Written by Chris Chibnall, showrunner since 2018, Spyfall is the first strict two-part adventure in the Thirteenth Doctor era, although The Woman Who Fell To Earth led directly into The Ghost Monument last series too.

Spyfall airs on New Year’s Day 2020 on BBC1 at 6:55pm on BBC1.
