Big Finish has released another title from its extensive back catalogue for you to enjoy, completely free for the next week: Doctor Who – The Companion Chronicles: The Beginning is written by Marc Platt, and stars Carole Ann Ford and Terry Molloy.
During the lockdown imposed by the Coronavirus crisis, Big Finish is releasing free downloads of full-cast audio dramas – or #lockdownloads – for a limited time. Every Monday, a new story (or episode from a box set) will become available. Each story will be available for one week only, and comes accompanied by a special discount offer on related titles.
These stories can be unlocked by anyone registered for a Big Finish account (free to create) and played on the Big Finish app (similarly free).
The Companion Chronicles: The Beginning marks the maiden voyage of the Doctor inside a Type 40 TARDIS he chose to steal and the day both he and Susan fled from Gallifrey. It was originally released in November 2013, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who.
Here’s the synopsis:
When the First Doctor and his grand-daughter Susan escape through the cloisters of Gallifrey to an old Type 40 Time Travel capsule, little do they realize the adventures that lie ahead…
And little do they know, as the TARDIS dematerializes and they leave their home world behind, there is someone else aboard the ship. He is Quadrigger Stoyn, and he is very unhappy…
Big Finish listeners can get 50% off the Doctor Who – Lost Stories: First Doctor box set adventures at the Weekly Deals page, and save even more money with a download bundle of Doctor Who – The Companion Chronicles: The First Doctor volumes 1-3 (for just £36).
Further free stories will be released over the next seven weeks.
