Check Out Children in Need’s Preview Clip of Joy to the World, Doctor Who’s Christmas Special

Yesterday’s Children in Need included a special preview clip of this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, Joy to the World, introduced by Fifteenth Doctor actor, Ncuti Gatwa!

In the clip, we see the Doctor with Joy, played by Nicola Coughlan, plus Melnak, the Silurian, played by Sherlock‘s Jonathan Aris; a big ol’ Tyrannosaurus; and mention of Villengard, previously seen in Twice Upon a Time and mentioned in stories like The Empty Child/ The Doctor Dances and Boom.

And we’ve got it right here for you!

Joy to the World is written by former showrunner, Steven Moffat, who previously teased:

“Imagine in the far, far future, imagine that a hotel chain got hold of the idea of time travel. What’s the first thing a hotel chain would do if they had time travel? They’d realise they had an opportunity to sell all the unsold nights in their own hotels in history.”

Sounds great to us! And this clip gives us a good taste of the fun insanity due later this year.

Joy to the World is expected to air on Christmas Day 2024.
