What Doctor Who Spin-Offs Would You Like to See?

Before we start, let’s shove the sizeable elephant out of the room. I’m guessing you’re aware of the rumours about the future of our beloved show. In terms of what might happen, some of you are no doubt worried, while some of you might even be relieved.

Fear not!

I have it from reliable sources that there are already plans in place. The current series will eventually be followed by The War Between the Land and the Sea. But that’s not news, I hear you say, we already know all this! What you don’t know is that The War Between the Blah Blah, Blah Blah will immediately be followed by another spin off which currently has the working title of…

‘Myrka in Manchester’

Details on the show are scant at this moment. But the series is rumoured to focus on the life and loves of the Myrka, as it struggles to come to terms with the fallout of a recent break up with a coercive Drashig. Joining the Myrka, in a shared flat just off Canal Street are its friends, Group Marshall Studd, a Sontaran on a mission to raise funds for the expansion of his Bhangra dance troupe, and the kooky but loveable character of Vicky the Vardan, who is desperately trying to bring someone into her life but just can’t find anyone on her wavelength. Disney has already commissioned 26 episodes, and I hear that Ryan Gosling has been pencilled in for the role of Studd.

So, you see, all is more than well.

Joking aside, we’d like to know what Doctor Who spin-offs you’d like to see in the future. We’ve had Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. We’ve had a K9 & Company pilot. Heck, we even had Class. Should The War Between the Land and the Sea lead into a UNIT series? Should there be a programme devoted entirely to the Silurian way of life? Or should other Time Lords, most pressingly the Rani and Susan, get their own show? Let us know in the comments section below!

Graham Clements

Recently retired from anything or anyone who stresses him out. He loves a bit of old telly and freely admits to being stuck in the past. The nostalgia keeps him warm and happy. Callan, Blake's 7, I Claudius, Kirk's Star Trek, Survivors, and Doctor Who continue to make him smile. Graham Clements likes to read and occasionally tries to write. He has a very, very understanding wife, who dutifully ignores the ever-spreading tentacles of his Doctor Who collections. Clements prides himself on the thorough checking of all his work. You will consequently find no spalling mistooks in tits biology.
