A new Doctor brings new merchandise and with said Doctor and their companions about to descend upon SDCC we’ve got our first look at what you’ll be able to pick up soon.
The promotional campaign for the new series really begins here with newly-announced merch which includes a few enticing items, mainly based around action figures that range from the hyper-stylised figurines of Funko Pop, Funko “Rock Candy”, Titan and Titan Kawaii ranges all available at the San Diego Comic Con next week to the Character Options 10″ figure which isn’t going to be at the con but does actually looks like Jodie Whittaker, comes with actual fabric clothing and a sonic screwdriver too.
However, it isn’t all tiny facsimiles of Jodie Whittaker. No, my friend, you can also dress like the Thirteenth Doctor too with US company Her Universe debuting Whittaker’s rainbow striped top, long coat, and blue trousers at San Diego Comic-con next week and selling them at Hot Topic stores after that.
According to the Radio Times, the items will be available to UK fans from a different source that will be announced in due course.
Now, if you’re not luck enough to make it to SDCC then, please, don’t despair. Even though almost all of these items will be on display for the very first time at SDCC next week, the Titan figurines will be available to buy after the close of Comic-Con on Monday 23rd July from Hot Topic & the BBC Shop in the US and from Forbidden Planet in the UK.
The Funkos will be on sale in the UK and US this September, while the realistic 10″ action figure can be pre-ordered now from Forbidden Planet or the Character Options website.
Doctor Who will return this Autumn on BBC One.
