As the UK goes into a second lockdown, Doctor Who Magazine‘s Emily Cook has announced another run of Doctor Who rewatches, during which fans are encouraged to all watch the same story at the same time and take part in tweet-alongs.
While last time’s lockdown Who featured episodes like The Day of the Doctor, Rose, and Silence in the Library/ Forest of the Dead, the next phase will be decided on via Twitter polls. Following the Hallowe’en rewatch of Blink, fans voted on which companion should take the spotlight. The winner was… River Song, played by Alex Kingston!
And so, tomorrow (7th November 2020), you can join the rewatch of The Husbands of River Song.
This Twelfth Doctor story is written by Steven Moffat, and, while being the last appearance (sort of) of River, it’s also the first appearance of Nardole (Matt Lucas).
Director, Douglas Mackinnon will be joining in on Twitter, so we can learn more about the behind-the-scenes goings-on.
These lockdown projects are here to bring fans together at this difficult time. And though we normally steer clear of commenting on current politics on the DWC… The UK Government is shockingly incompetent, isn’t it? Boris’ press announcement yesterday was blinkered and full of spin, using rhetoric about freedom yet ultimately building walls, scaring the populace, and trying to score cheap political points.
To take part with the new Who project, start watching The Husbands of River Song at 7pm on 7th November 2020, and tweet along using the hashtag #HelloSweetie. Find out more about the Doctor Who lockdown at the new site.
