Leela actress, Louise Jameson, and Cyberman actor, Jon Davey, will be headlining the Stars of Time event in Weston-super-Mare tomorrow (15th August 2026).
The convention takes place four times a year at present — twice a year in Weston and twice in Swindon. This weekend’s event will feature Louise, who, of course, played the Fourth Doctor companion, Leela, though her extensive credits also include Tenko, EastEnders, and Doc Martin. Another name that might be familiar to Doctor Who fans is Jon Davey, who is sometimes uncredited in parts but otherwise gets his due when performing as various aliens or creatures such as the Cybermen, Daleks, Judoon, Whisper Men, and more. He’s also been in spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures.
They’ll be joined by Eli James (Pokémon), Simon J Williamson (Star Wars: Return of the Jedi), and Heather Ripley, who played Jemima Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I’ve actually sat in the movie prop from that movie as a child. You weren’t supposed to, but clearly, I am one of life’s great rebels. Please don’t tell anyone though. I was very respectful and just used the car to hunt down the Child Catcher.
The Stars of Time is a nice convention that’s swelled in size, so is attracting a lot of big names. Louise is always an absolute delight, so it’ll be lovely to see her there; ditto Davey who came to the event many moons ago now.
Obviously, there will also be all the usual dealers there, including comic stores, folks with collectibles and nostalgic toys, trading cards, and those dang Funko Pops that everyone seems bizarrely obsessed with.
Anyway, that’s the Stars of Time at Weston-super-Mare’s Winter Gardens on 15th August 2026.
