Doctor Who‘s 63rd birthday is shared with the 20th anniversary of the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler, and to celebrate, The Satan Pit is heading to the big screen!

2006’s two part serial The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit is getting an extended movie release. The Satan Pit: The Extended Cut is screening in over 1,000 cinemas across the UK, Ireland, U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Tickets go on sale Friday 25th September, ahead of the screening on Doctor Who Day, November 23rd, which this year is a Monday.

TWENTY YEARS?!

The two part serial was first aired on 3 June 2006 and 10 June 2006, and along with David Tennant and Billie Piper guest starred Danny Webb as Mr. Jefferson and Shaun Parkes as Zachary Cross Flane. Also in the case, Claire Rushbrook as Ida Scott, and Will Thorp who played a key role as Toby Zed. Ahead of her roles in Ripper Street, The Twilight Saga, and The Witcher, MyAnna Buring played Scooti Manista, with Ronny Jhutti as Danny Bartock. Paul Kasey played the principle Ood, with Silas Carson providing voices.

The two part story also marked the return of Gabriel Woolf to Doctor Who; he had previously played the similarly devilish Sutekh in 1975’s Pyramid of Mars.
