Watch Karen Gillan’s Fitness Regime for New Sci-Fi Movie, Dual

A fitness video? On The Doctor Who Companion?! Oh, but this isn’t your usual sort of fitness video, DWC readers! This one features former Doctor Who companion, Karen Gillan, training for her role in the satirical sci-fi movie, Dual.

Gillan, of course, played Amy Pond regularly between 2010 and 2012, then returned briefly for the Eleventh Doctor’s swansong, The Time of the Doctor. She had a fair few action scenes in stories like The Curse of the Black Spot and The Girl Who Waited, and since then, has gone on to star in the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchises, Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers as Nebula.

But she still has to keep training to maintain that level of fitness. So, here’s Karen being all kinds of fit. Ahem.

Here’s the premise of Dual:

Dual centers on a woman (Karen Gillan) who, upon receiving a terminal diagnosis, opts for a cloning procedure to ease her loss on her friends and family. When she makes a sudden and miraculous recovery, her attempts to have her clone decommissioned fail and lead to a court-mandated duel to the death.

Two Karens will no doubt remind fans of The Girl Who Waited, as well as the Time and Space Comic Relief shorts.

Dual premiered at the Sundance Festival and is expected to hit cinemas and streaming platforms later this year.
