A replica of Doctor Who car, Bessie, a full-sized Dalek, and huge number of rare toys are just some of the lots going up for auction tomorrow (10th June 2026), hosted in the North East of England.
Anderson & Garland will host the Doctor Who Auction at Anderson House in Newcastle upon Tyne, with lots ranging from every era of Doctor Who — a lifetime collection of memorabilia. These were all owned by one dedicated fan and are being sold on, sadly, after the collector’s passing.
Hamish Trower, auctioneer at Anderson & Garland, said:
“This is a proper TARDIS of a collection – bigger, brighter and more exciting the more you look inside it. It’s been lovingly built over many years by a hugely enthusiastic Doctor Who fan, and it’s full of character, nostalgia and real fun. We’re delighted to be bringing it to auction, where we’re sure it will find a whole new universe of admirers.”
One lots is a replica of Bessie, i.e. a Siva Edwardian Tourer kit car, estimated at £4,000 to £6,000, registered with the DVLA with the registration plate “WHO 244”. It also comes with signed correspondence from Third Doctor actor, Jon Pertwee, and signed photographs of the Sixth Doctor, Colin Baker, with the vehicle.
Meanwhile, a full-sized Remembrance of the Daleks-era Dalek model, produced by This Planet Earth Ltd, is expected to go for between £400 and £600. A replica K9 is estimated at £200 to £400. And there are costumes from Warriors of the Deep and The Trial of a Time Lord listed too.
It was especially sobering for me to see one of my books — The Black Archive: The Pandorica Opens — listed in one of the extensive book lots, coupled with other Black Archive tomes, some Lethbridge-Stewart novels, Short Trips, and novellas.
The lots all have conservative estimates, especially considering some include the autographs of First, Second, and Third Doctor actors, William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, and Jon Pertwee. Nonetheless, there are some bargains to be had here.
But it’s more than that. It’s a sad reminder that life is precious and our collections might have lives beyond us, so enjoy them while you can.
