One Night Only: US Screenings of The Shakespeare Show, Hosted by David Tennant

In celebration of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, Fathom and BBC Worldwide will present a unique event, The Shakespeare Show – hosted by the Tenth Doctor himself, David Tennant – broadcast in select cinemas across the USA for one night only.
Recorded live from the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), The Shakespeare Show will show on Monday 23rd May at 7pm local time.
The show, conceived and directed by the RSC’s artistic director, Gregory Doran, will celebrate the bard’s plays and their enduring influence on music, dance, opera, musical theatre, and comedy, and there’s a whole host of familiar faces taking part. For one, Tennant will be joined on hosting duties by Catherine Tate (Donna Noble), but further Doctor Who alumni include: Ian McKellen (The Snowmen); Meera Syal (The Hungry Earth/ Cold Blood); and Sanjeev Bhaskar (Death in Heaven).
Further appearances will include Judi Dench, Benedict Cumberbatch, Helen Mirren, John Lithgow, David Suchet, Joseph Fiennes, Rufus Wainwright, Tim Minchin, Al Murray, Alison Moyet, Paapa Essiedu, Pippa Nixon, Alexandra Gilbreath, the Royal Ballet, the Orchestra of the Swan, and many more – captured live from Stratford-upon-Avon on Shakespeare’s birthday.
The event is roughly 2 hours 30 mins long, so you’re certainly getting a lot for your money.
So that’s Monday 23rd May at 7pm local time. Check out the site to see if your local cinema is participating. The list of cinema locations is constantly being updated.
