What Are Your Top 10 Doctor Who Serials of the Decade?

Depending on who you ask, 2019 brought the decade to a close (though some would argue that the milestone comes at the end of 2020, so who the heck really knows?). In that time, we’ve had numerous Doctors, many Daleks, quite a few Cybermen, and a Master in a pear-tree. That’s a lot of Doctor Who.

So we turned to the DWC contributors to find out what their favourite serials of the decade are. That’s everything from The End of Time (because Part 2 concluded on 1st January 2010) to Resolution.

Otherwise, the criteria was pretty strict. I didn’t want any rationale. This is a talking point, because I’d love to hear your thoughts, dear reader, and acts as a decent overview (I hope) of what Doctor Who served up between 2010 and 2019. I asked for lists and that’s it. I also didn’t ask for any particular order, so some are by preference, others chronological, and others as-and-when they came to mind.

The biggest quibble was serial. I wanted a list of best serials, and have admittedly been a bit harsh in enforcing this rule. Many picked, for instance, Heaven Sent, but not Hell Bent; Dark Water, but not Death in Heaven. So some of the selections below may cause rioting. Alas, I hate an incomplete story…

With that in mind, there are a few contributors’ thoughts on the Top 10 Doctor Who stories of the past 10 years…
