Casts and Airtimes Announced for Doctor Who Series 14: Space Babies and The Devil’s Chord

The airtimes of the first two episodes of Doctor Who Series 14 have been revealed, alongside the cast lists, one of which includes an arguably surprise actress.

Space Babies and The Devil’s Chord will be available on Saturday 11th May 2024 at midnight in the UK (or at 7pm ET on 10th May 2024), streaming on BBC iPlayer and Disney+. They’ll then air later that night on BBC1 before EurovisionSpace Babies at 6:20pm and The Devil’s Chord at 7:05pm.

Here’s who’s in Space Babies:

The Doctor: Ncuti Gatwa
Ruby Sunday: Millie Gibson
Jocelyn Sancerre: Golda Rosheuvel
Carla Sunday: Michelle Greenidge
Cherry Sunday: Angela Wynter
Eric: Mason McCumskey
Voice of Eric: Sami Amber
Poppy: Sienna-Robyn Mavanga-Phipps
Voice of Poppy: Shola Olaitan-Ajiboye
Voice of Sandra: Cadence Williams
Voice of Marcel: Param Patel
Voice of Adjani: Lonnee Archibong
Rico Trieste: Jesus Reyes Ortiz
Lucia Colasanto: Yasmine Bouabid
Bogeyman: Robert Strange

And obviously Gatwa and Gibson will be in The Devil’s Chord, with:

Maestro: Jinkx Monsoon
Timothy Drake: Jeremy Limb
Henry: Kit Rakusen
Tea Trolley Lady: Sherinne Kayra Anderson
George Martin: Ed White
Paul McCartney: George Caple
John Lennon: Chris Mason
George Harrison: Philip Davies
Ringo Starr: James Hoyles
Studio Producer: Chan Shoker
Cilla Black: Josie Sedgwick-Davies
Tea Lady: Susan Twist
Vinnie: Simon Jason-Smith
Elderly Woman: Laura June Hudson
Murray Gold: Murray Gold
Shirley Ballas: Shirley Ballas
Johannes Radebe: Johannes Radebe

Interesting to see composer, Murray Gold, in there, presumably in a Strictly Come Dancing-inspired segment with Ballas and Radebe. And yes, you might’ve spotted former Doctor Who costume designer, June Hudson, in the cast list!

The potentially surprising cast member? Susan Twist as “Tea Lady”. She was previously Sir Isaac Newton’s housekeeper in Wild Blue Yonder and a heckler in the Christmas special, The Church on Ruby Road. But she’s also due to come back later on in Series 14, as Susan Triad.

So we might have a new ongoing mysterious character…
